About Latin Media Gurus

Latin Media Gurus was founded in April 2009 by two aspiring Gurus, Richard Goodman and David Villafaña. After many meetings that discussed the future of the media industry, and specifically, as it related to the growing Latin American market in the United States,  Richard and David developed an ambitious plan to discover and combine the knowledge of the big guys (aka “the Gurus”) through interviews and case studies on professions in the industry to determine areas of growth.

This site is meant to give a voice to those ambitious and dedicated individuals who are looking to wedge their way into the Latin Media industry. We hope to expand this site to be of more interest to people trying to “make it”, while giving a first-hand look at what the industry is and where it is headed.

You can learn a bit more about the staff behind Latin Media Gurus by reading the bios via the links below.

Rich Goodman

Cheif Executive Officer

Rich Goodman was born in Mexico City, Mexico but it wasn’t until his teenage years that his love for Latin music really developed. Barely getting reception from the now defunct MOR FM from Tijuana, Baja California, Rich was introduced to amazing music that spurted his desire to pursue the ever evolving Latin entertainment industry.  More about Rich Goodman

David Villafaña

Creative Director

Que tal Amigos! I grew up in sunny San Diego, California, city in which I was inspired to begin my journey in the music world. I learned how to play the guitar and piano when I was 13, and since then I have been a Latin Alternative aficionado!  More about David Villafaña
